Activities Schedule April 13 to April 21, 2012


Friday,  April 13th, 2012
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
                        Come down to the lobby and enjoy the  movie Puss in Boots. We will supply the popcorn.

Saturday, April 14th, 2012  
10:00AM             Make your own Grass Hair Planter ($4 per planter) Limited to 10 people Age 6+
Come down to the Fun Factory where Mr. Potato Head meets a Chia Pet. You will make funny planters out of nylon, sawdust and grass seed. 
11:00AM           Paint  your own ceramic Piggy Bank ($4 per piggy bank) Limited to 15 people
A great opportunity for the children to be creative in designing and painting their very own piggy bank. Its never to early to teach your children how to save money! Great for all ages!
7:00PM             Half Moon Jewelry Design ($11-$16 per necklace depending on size) (Earring sets also available $5-$14)
Come down to the Fun Factory to make your own jewelry with Half Moon Jewelry Design owner Joyce Schwartz.  She will the kits and guide you through the process of making your own jewelry!  Event will run from 7-8pm and is a great craft for all ages!
8:00PM             Facebook Movie Night — (FREE EVENT) Go to our Facebook  Page and vote for the movie you want to see tonight.  We will supply the popcorn.
Monday, April 16th,  2012
9:00AM           Day Break Update at Pollard Brook (FREE EVENT)
Join our Adventure Concierge for a fun and informational gathering where we will update you on all of our activities, local events and answer any questions you may have! Complimentary donuts.
11:00AM           Wii Games (FREE) Great for all age  4+
Come down to the Fun Factory at Pollard Brook where you will join Eric to play some Nintendo Wii! This is a great chance for anyone, any age to show off their Wii skills!  Limit to 4 people due to space. There will be 2 sessions of 45 minutes each.  Please no repeat sign ups.
2:00PM             Tour the Kanc ($5 per person in Van)
Join Eric as he heads out the Kancamagus Highway. We will stop at several places as we travel towards the other side of the Kanc. He will share history and interesting places along the way. Where did Sabbaday Falls get it’s name.? Find out on this tour. Any trails we hike will be a combination of hard packed gravel and/or mud so please wear sturdy footwear. Sturdy Boots Only Please!!!

Come down to the lobby and enjoy the movie We Bought a Zoo . We will supply the popcorn.

 Tuesday,  April 17th, 2012
10:00AM           Covered Bridge Tour ($10 per person) 12 will fit in Van everyone else will  follow
Join us as we head west of Lincoln to see a few covered bridges.  First we will stop at the Swiftwater Covered Bridge, which is a smaller bridge with a beautiful waterfall underneath it.  After that we will head to the Haverhill-Bath Covered Bridge, which is 1 of 2 completely original bridges left in the country.  Finally we will stop at the Bath Covered Bridge, which is the longest covered bridge entirely in the state of NH.  Also at the Bath Covered Bridge is the Brick Store, America’s Oldest General Store! If it is a clear day we will be treated to a fantastic panoramic view of Franconia Notch and the Presidential Range as we return thru Sugar Hill.
3:00PM             Fadden's Sugar House and General Store (Free Event) 
We will head over to North Woodstock and meet with the Fadden Family and see how they make Maple Syrup.  You will be able to observe the process in the modern facility as well as see an example of the way it was done in the good ole days. 
7:00PM             Bingo Night ($1 per card)
Come down to the Fun Factory for a fun game of Bingo.  The more people who play the bigger the prizes. There must be a minimum of 10 people to play
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
Come down to the lobby and enjoy Tower Heist. This movie is rated PG-13 and does contain strong language and adult content.  We will supply the popcorn.

Wednesday, April 18th,  2012
10:00AM             Make your own Mosaic Woodland Coaster ($4 per coaster) Limited to 10 people Age 6+
Come down to the Fun Factory and  bring a taste of the outdoors inside with authentic wooden coasters rimmed with real bark. Coasters are approx 4” in diameter.
3:30PM             Create your own Flower Garden ($4 per person includes 2 pots) Limit 10- Ages 4+
Come down to the Fun Factory for a hands on way to celebrate the coming of spring or enhance the study of nature.  You will paint you pot, fill it with dirt and plant maridold seeds which will germinate in about 10 days.

8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
Come down to the lobby and enjoy the movie Money Ball.  This movie is rated PG-13   We will supply the popcorn.

Thursday, April 19th,  2012
10:00AM           Nowhere & Everywhere Tour ($10 per person if we go by Van $15 if by Bus)
Join me as we wander around the White Mountains.  Where we go is a mystery.  We will see some scenic vistas, historic sites, waterfalls, covered bridges and other places of interest.  This is a great opportunity to learn about the region with someone else doing the driving.  Be sure to bring your camera because sometimes we get some wildlife as a bonus.
3:30PM             Hike the Basin ($5 per person)
Join Eric on an easy stroll through the Basin. The Basin itself is a small waterfall and rock formation also known as the Old Man’s Foot. From there we will either hike through the “Baby Flume” or up the Basin Cascades Trail, both of which have very nice waterfalls and scenery.  Any trails we hike will be a combination of hard packed gravel and/or mud so please wear sturdy footwear. Sturdy Boots Only Please!!!

Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, St. Johnsbury, VT Open Mon-Sat 9-5pm Sundays 1-5pm
 The Fairbanks Museum was founded in 1889 by St. Johnsbury industrialist Franklin Fairbanks. Inside our classic Victorian building, you'll find a dazzling array of animals and artifacts, dolls and tools, shells and fossils, and much more! Take a trip through the cosmos in Vermont's only public planetarium, and see weather forecasts in the works in our Eye on the Sky Weather Gallery.

Hike the Flume
Enjoy the Flume in the Winter. This is a 2 mile round-trip hike through one of the most beautiful areas mother nature has created in the White Mountains. We will see the gorge itself, which is 800 ft long and 90 ft tall, you will see about 4 different waterfalls, 2 covered bridges, an area called “the pool”, and of course, amazing scenery. Be sure to bring a camera! This is a moderate to strenuous hike. At this time of year it may still have snow so sturdy footwear is recommended.
