On Monday July 27, 2009 at about 6:10pm we had a pretty heavy down pour. When I looked out the window I saw the sunshine was shining and immediately thought rainbow. I ran out to my car grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures.

This pictures is looking down the driveway of Pollard Brook looking towards Loon Mountain from underneath the car port.

Spring Conditions on Hiking Trails

Spring Conditions on the White Mountain National Forest

The recent storms have resulted in record rainfall accumulation on the White Mountain
National Forest. Rivers and streams have risen significantly. Waterway depth, clarity,
speed, and hydraulic force in the already swollen rivers will change rapidly after heavy
rainfall events. Extreme caution should be used when crossing rivers or entering the
water.

Trails are wet and muddy resulting from several inches of summer rain. Expect to
encounter fallen trees in trails from the recent storm events.

Unpaved surfaces are very soft and muddy in some locations.

Take to the trails on your own off-road Segway X2 for a 45-minute excursion into Wolfman's territory. Your Glide Guide will take you on a narrated tour through Wolfman's world where you'll visit his "Unobtainium" mine and confront the legendary curmudgeon of the woods firsthand.
