Super Bowl Sunday Ski Specials

During past Patriots’ Super Bowl appearances many guests have elected to pass up skiing and riding that weekend even though the game isn’t played until Sunday night at 6:30 pm. As a result, you'll find less-crowded slopes and an opportunity to enjoy midweek crowds with mid-winter conditions. Ski areas have recognized the popularity of the Super Bowl and many offer lift ticket specials to entice guests to hit the slopes and trails!

Attitash Mountain Resort - Attitash will be offering $46 all-day lift tickets on February 5.

Cannon Mountain - Super Sunday Special allows two people to ski or ride for $68 on February 5.

Cranmore Mountain Resort
- Cranmore is offering a Super Bowl ECoupon that must be printed in advance from Cranmore.com and is valid for $47 adult, $37 teen, and $32 child lift tickets on February 5.

Gunstock Mountain Resort - Arrive at Gunstock with your Patriots gear on and receive $12 off a full price adult ticket on February 5.

King Pine at Purity Spring Resort - Half-day, morning lift tickets will be available for $22 for adults and $15 for juniors on February 5.

Ragged Mountain - Ragged Mountain will be offering two-for-one full price lift tickets (2 for $71 for adults, 2 for $57 for teens & 2 for $47 for juniors & seniors) on February 5.

Waterville Valley - In celebration of Super Bowl XLVI (46), Waterville Valley will be offering $46 lift tickets for adults and $15 for ages 12 and younger on February 5.

Wildcat Mountain - Wildcat will be offering $46 all-day lift tickets on February 5.

Discounted Passes on Sunday Afternoons

Super Bowl Sunday afternoon should be an outstanding time to hit the slopes with many skiers and riders already at home on the couch. Even if you ski right until 4pm you still have 2 ½ hours until kickoff. Among the areas with regular Sunday afternoon special offers are Attitash Mountain Resort, Black Mountain, Crotched Mountain, King Pine at Purity Spring Resort, Loon Mountain, Mount Sunapee, Ragged Mountain, Waterville Valley and Wildcat Mountain.

Some of these offers apply to specific groups (like NH residents or kids) so please click on the links above to visit the resort's website before traveling.

White Mountain National Forest Junior Snow Ranger Event Hosted By Local Ski Areas

News from our friends at the White Mountain National Forest:

Campton, NH – On January 27 White Mountain National Forest Rangers will take to the slopes of Loon Mountain, Waterville Valley, Attitash, Great Glen Trails and Bretton Woods to share the new Junior Snow Ranger Activity booklet with local school children.

The activity book is designed for elementary school children, particularly 4th and 5th graders. Both outdoor and indoor activities are included in this colorful publication. Topics include: personal safety, wildlife, winter ecology, snow science, and recreation. The role of a Forest Service snow ranger, the use of rescue dogs, and the continued importance of wildfire prevention during the winter are highlighted in the book. After completing the fun activities, children will receive a card, a patch, and a certificate of completion.

One of the highlights of the day will be a demonstration by Cutler the Forest Service Avalanche Rescue Dog. Skiers at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH will have the opportunity to meet Cutler, and watch Cutler and Snow Ranger Chris Joosen demonstrate how Cutler locates avalanche victims.

Junior Snow Ranger activity books will be available at all National Forest visitor centers, contact stations, the White Mountain National Forest website www.fs.fed.us/r9/white and the Learn to Ski and Snowboard website at http://www.skiandsnowboardmonth.org/

In addition to the event scheduled in New Hampshire on January 27, Snow Ranger events are also being planned in Colorado, Vermont, Idaho, Montana, and Michigan. Activities will be filmed and photographed at each location, and the footage will be compiled into a video news release to be posted on the USDA YouTube channel. Junior Snow Rangers are encouraged to post photos of their winter activities to the Woodsy Owl Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/woodsyowl throughout the season.

The US Forest Service Junior Snow Ranger program mission is to inspire youth to embrace a life-long relationship with the winter environment and to become stewards of the land.
