Activities Schedule March 2 to March 10, 2012


Friday,  March 2nd, 2012
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
                        Come down to the lobby and enjoy the  movie R.V. We will supply the popcorn.

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012
9:00AM             Make your own Grass Hair Planter ($4 per planter) Limited to 15 people Age 6+
Come down to the Fun Factory where Mr. Potato Head meets a Chia Pet. You will make funny planters out of nylon, sawdust and grass seed. 
10:00AM           Sledding @ Kanc Rec Center (Free Event WEATHER PERMITTING) 
Join Eric as we head over to the local recreation center for a couple of hours of sledding. Transportation and sleds will be provided.
12:30PM           Decoupage Plates ($5 per plate)
Come down to the Fun Factory, and be sure to bring your vacation photos to make a commemorative plate! You will decoupage your pictures on to the back of a glass plate so that your vacation at Pollard Brook will never be forgotten. Limited to 10 people.
2:00PM             Hike or Snowshoe the Basin ($5 per person or $15 snowshoe rental)
Join Eric on an easy stroll through the Basin. The Basin itself is a small waterfall and rock formation also known as the Old Man’s Foot. From there we will either hike through the “Baby Flume” or up the Basin Cascades Trail, both of which have very nice waterfalls and scenery.  If conditions are not ideal for snowshoes we will just hike the trail.Sturdy Boots Only Please!!!
7:00PM             Half Moon Jewelry Design ($11-$16 per necklace depending on size) (Earring sets also available $5-$14)
Come down to the Fun Factory to make your own jewelry with Half Moon Jewelry Design owner Joyce Schwartz.  She will the kits and guide you through the process of making your own jewelry!  Event will run from 7-8pm and is a great craft for all ages!
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
Come down to the lobby and enjoy the movie Zookeeper.  We will supply the popcorn.

Monday, March 5th,  2012
9:00AM             Day Break Update at Pollard Brook (FREE EVENT)
Join our Adventure Concierge for a fun and informational gathering where we will update you on all of our activities, local events and answer any questions you may have! Complimentary donuts.
11:00AM           Wii Games (FREE) Great for all age  4+
Come down to the Fun Factory at Pollard Brook where you will join Eric to play some Nintendo Wii! This is a great chance for anyone, any age to show off their Wii skills!  Limit to 4 people due to space. There will be 2 sessions of 30 minutes each.  Please no repeat sign ups.
12:00PM           Sand Art ($3-$7 depends on the size of bottle)
                           Join the Eric  in the Fun Factory were you will be making sand art!
2:00PM             Snowshoe or Hike at Sabbaday Falls($5 per person or $15 snowshoe rental)
Join Eric as we head out on the Kanc over to Sabbaday Falls.  This is a ¾ mile round trip hike up to a 3 tiered waterfall! Most of the trail is flat, except for one small hill.  Sabbaday Falls is a very scenic area with beautiful views.  If there is not enough snow we will just hike in so please wear sturdy footwear. Sturdy Boots Only Please!!!
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
Come down to the lobby and enjoy the movie Cars 2.  We will supply the popcorn.

 Tuesday,  March 6th, 2012
10:00AM           Covered Bridge Tour ($10 per person) 12 will fit in Van everyone else will follow
Join Eric as we head West of Lincoln to see a few covered bridges. First we will stop at the Swiftwater Covered Bridge, which is a smaller bridge with a beautiful waterfall underneath it.  After that we will head to the Haverhill-Bath Covered Bridge which is an original bridge.  Finally we will stop at the Bath Covered Bridge which is the longest covered bridge located entirely in the state of NH. Also located here is the Brick Store which is the oldest continuous operating general store in the USA.
3:00PM             Fadden's Sugar House and General Store (Free Event) 
We will head over to North Woodstock and meet with the Fadden Family and see how they make Maple Syrup.  You will be able to observe the process in the modern facility as well as see an example of the way it was done in the good ole days. 
5:00PM             Ice Cream? It’s  for  Dinner($4 per bowl) Please sign up in  book located in lobby
                        Whoever said Ice Cream was only a summer food was wrong. Come down to the Fun Factory just off the main lobby for an ice cream social. We will have different kinds of ice cream, and almost everything you can think of for toppings.
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
                        Come down to the lobby and enjoy Mr. Poppers Penguins.  We will supply the popcorn.

Wednesday, Marth 7th,  2012
10:00AM           Sledding @ Kanc Rec Center (Free Event WEATHER PERMITTING) 
Join Eric as we head over to the local recreation center for a couple of hours of sledding. Transportation and sleds will be provided.
12:30PM           Paint  your own ceramic Piggy Bank ($4 per piggy bank) Limited to 15 people
A great opportunity for the children to be creative in designing and painting their very own piggy bank. Its never to early to teach your children how to save money! Great for all ages!
1:30PM             Snowmobile Tour ($125 per sled) Space is limited please sign up in advance
Join us as we head over to Sled Ventures for a 2+ hour guided snowmobile tour! 
2 people can go on one sled, or you can go it alone on your own sled!  Beginners and first timers welcome!  This is a guided tour up to Bog Pond, or through the Franconia Notch! They supply jackets, pants  and helmets.
7:00PM             Half Moon Jewelry Design ($12 per bracelet) (or $15-$17 per ankle bracelet)
Come down to the Fun Factory to make your own jewelry with Half Moon Jewelry Design owner Joyce Schwartz.  She will provide the kits and guide you through the process of making your own jewelry!  Event will run from 7-8pm and is a great craft for all ages!

Thursday, March 8th,  2012
12:30PM           Ceremonial Tree Tapping at Fadden’s General Store.(FREE EVENT)  Governor John Lynch will be performing a ceremonial tree tapping  to kick off the NH Maple Syrup season.
3:30PM             Create your own Flower Garden ($4 per person includes 2 pots) Limit 15 Ages 4+
Come down to the Fun Factory for a hands on way to celebrate the coming of spring or enhance the study of nature.  You will paint you pot, fill it with dirt and plant maridold seeds which will germinate in about 10 days.
7:00PM             Bingo Night ($1 per card)
Come down to the Fun Factory for a fun game of Bingo.  The more people who play the bigger the prizes. There must be a minimum of 10 people to play
8:00PM             Movie Night — (FREE EVENT)
Come down to the lobby and enjoy Money Ball.  This movie is rated PG-13   We will supply the popcorn.

Saturday, March 10th, 2012
9:00AM             Create your own Fabric Spray Painted T-Shirts ($6 per T-Shirt)  Please sign up in advance and specify T-Shirt size. (Shirts may shrink once washed) Come down to the Fun Factory where you will be using permanent spray on fabric paint to create tie-dye effects instantly with out the mess. Parent help is suggested for younger kids as the spray bottles can be difficult for smaller hands.
