Activities Schedule April 15 - 23, 2011

Friday, April 15th 2011 10:00AM Snowshoe or Hike the Basin ($15 if snowshoes rented, FREE if you have your own snowshoes) Join Eric on an easy stroll through the Basin. The Basin itself is a small waterfall and rock formation also known as the Old Man on the Mountain’s Foot. From there we will either hike through the “Baby Flume” or up the Basin Cascades Trail. Both of which have very nice waterfalls and scenery. If conditions are not ideal for snowshoeing we will just hike the trail 8:00PM Movie Night — (FREE EVENT) Come down to the lobby and enjoy a movie that is PG-13 or lower. We will supply the popcorn. Check the board in the lobby for what movie will be playing each night. Saturday, April 16th, 2011 10:00AM Covered Bridge Tour ($10 per person) Join us as we head west of Lincoln to see a few covered bridges. First we will stop at the Swiftwater Covered Bridge, which is a smaller bridge with a beautiful waterfall underneath it. After that we will head to the Haverhill-Bath Covered Bridge, which is 1 of 2 completely original bridges left in the country. Finally we will stop at the Bath Covered Bridge, which is the longest covered bridge entirely in the state of NH. Also at the Bath Covered Bridge is the Brick Store, America’s Oldest General Store! If it is a clear day we will be treated to a fantastic panoramic view of Franconia Notch and the Presidential Range as we return thru Sugar Hill. 7:00PM Half Moon Jewelry Design ($11-$16 per necklace depending on size) (Earring sets also available $5-$14) Come down to the Fun Factory to make your own jewelry with Half Moon Jewelry Design owner Joyce Schwartz. She will provide the kits and guide you through the process of making your own jewelry! Event will run from 7-8pm and is a great craft for all ages! 8:00PM Movie Night — (FREE EVENT) Come down to the lobby and enjoy a movie that is PG-13 or lower. We will supply the popcorn. Monday, April 18th, 2011 9:00AM Day Break Update at Pollard Brook (FREE EVENT) Join our Adventure Concierge for a fun and informational gathering where we will update you on all of our activities, local events and answer any questions you may have! Complimentary donuts and juice! 10:30AM Walk to Loon Mountain (FREE EVENT) Join Eric on a scenic walk over to Loon Mountain. We will walk along the bike path at the bottom of the driveway across 112 and along the river until we get to the bridge at Loon Mountain. This is a 2 mile, flat, easy hike mostly going alongside the Pemi River so be sure to bring your camera! 3:00PM Hike the Basin (FREE EVENT) Join Eric on an easy stroll through the Basin. Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 10:00AM Hike to Sabbaday Falls & Rocky Gorge($5 per person) Join us as we head out on the Kanc over to Sabbaday Falls. Sabbaday Falls is a 3/4 mile round trip hike up to a 3 tiered waterfall!! Most of the trail is flat, except for one small hill. This is a very scenic area with a beautiful waterfall! Rocky Gorge is a smaller gorge with a good sized waterfall a few miles down the road from Sabbaday Falls. This scenic area in the Swift river is not something you want to miss! The trail will probably be muddy so boots or other sturdy footwear is highly recommended 3:00PM Fadden's Sugar House and General Store (FREE EVENT) We will head over to North Woodstock and meet with the Fadden Family and see how they make Maple Syrup.You will be able to observe the process in the modern facility as well as see an example of the way it was done in the good ole days. 5:00PM Wine and Cheese Social (FREE EVENT) Come down to the Main Lobby and enjoy a delicious cheese platter, as well as a glass or two of wine! Eric will be there to answer any questions you may have, but this is simply an event for guests to socialize with each other. 8:00PM Movie Night — (FREE EVENT) Come down to the lobby and enjoy a movie that is PG-13 or lower. Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 3:00PM Ice Cream Social ($3 per bowl) Come down to the Fun Factory just off the main lobby for an ice cream social. We will have different kinds of ice cream, and almost everything you can think of for toppings 6:45PM Noises coming from a Pool near You!! (Free Event) We will head up to the Rock Estate in Bethlehem, NH to attend a program on the Vernal Pools of New Hampshire and your back yard. Why are those ponds so loud all of a sudden? Is love in the air and the water in vernal pools all over New Hampshire? You have probably heard the noise coming from ponds as you drive by them in the evening, have you ever wondered who was having the party? This program is designed from the casual nature watcher to the devoted outdoors person to learn more about their natural surroundings and appreciate what is happening right in their back yard. 7:00PM Half Moon Jewelry Design ($12 per bracelet) (or $15-$17 per ankle bracelet) Come down to the Fun Factory to make your own jewelry with Half Moon Jewelry Design owner Joyce Schwartz. This is a great game for anyone any age to come show off their skills. Limit to 8 people due to time. 6:00PM Bingo Night ($1 per card) Join Eric in the Fun Factory for some Bingo. Check the board in the lobby for what movie will be playing each night. Friday, April 22nd, 2011 10:00AM Nowhere & Everywhere Tour ($10 per person) Join me as we wander around the White Mountains. Where we go is a mystery. We will see some scenic vistas, historic sites, waterfalls, covered bridges and other places of interest. This is a great opportunity to learn about the region with someone else doing the driving. Be sure to bring your camera because sometimes we get some wildlife as a bonus. 8:00PM Movie Night — (FREE EVENT) Come down to the lobby and enjoy a movie that is PG-13 or lower.
